Water
The elemental call
WATER
She pulls me to my knees
Every single time I step within.
Not the crashing, stumbling waves of her ocean,
But the nestled embrace of the steaming hollow,
I bathe.
Safe within these four walls.
Embraced by wild rosemary, lavender and rose petals.
She glides their fragile forms over my skin.
A baptism.
A cleanse.
A ritual of release.
She expands with my grief as tears hit her surface,
And washes away the pains of my day.
Healer she is by just being,
And in her true nature is more powerful
Than she could ever truly know.
From my knees to my belly to my back
She holds me.
Sways me.
Enfolds me.
A babe swaddled,
Rocked to and fro.
Born on the waves of blessed water.
Let her rains wash me back to earth,
Where I am spirit again,
When I fall to my knees once more.
